How do I sign in to Google Classroom for the first time?
Important: You must have an active internet connection to sign in.
1. Go to classroom.google.com and click Go to Classroom.
2. Enter the email address (it looks something like this: email@example.com) and click Next.
3. Enter your password and click Next.
4. If there is a welcome message, review it and click Accept.
5. Then, click I’m A Student
6. Click Get Started.

Year 2 Curriculum - Summer Term 1
This term, we will be learning how to add and combine coins to make an amount and to calculate change and solve problems involving money.
We will also be identifying the correct unit of measurement, can name and describe shapes and find fractions of shapes and amounts.
This term in English, we will be focusing on poetry and extinct dinosaurs. We will read books to build up our fluency and confidence in word reading and discuss our favourite words and phrases.
We will continue to build up a repertoire of poems learnt by heart, appreciating these and reciting some, with appropriate intonation to make the meaning clear. To use the possessive apostrophe (singular) and to distinguish between homophones and near-homophones.
This term in Science we will be learning about animals and humans.
We will explore and compare the differences between things that are living, dead, and things that have never been alive and find out about and describe the basic needs of animals, including humans, for survival (water, food and air).
In history, we will be exploring the events beyond living memory. We will learn all about dinosaurs, understanding who Mary Anning is and why she is significant as well as learning about fossils.
We will be looking at locational knowledge. We will explore the names and locates the world’s seven continents and five oceans and identify characteristics of the four countries and capital cities of the United Kingdom and its surrounding seas.
We will also be looking at place knowledge, children will begin to understand geographical similarities and differences through studying the human and physical geography of a small area of the United Kingdom, and of a small area in a contrasting non-European country.
This term in PE we will be learning about gymnastics. We will discuss the importance of learning gymnastics and how it is good body management. Throughout the term we will learn to control their bodies while moving in different ways. We will discover the strength, flexibility and balance that we gain during gymnastics skills and how we can transfer easily to every other sport.
